The Plains of Castelluccio, who has the Sibillini Mountains like background, is situated at 1300 meters above sea level in the middle of Appennino Central.
The road pointing straight towards the spur of Castelluccio passes in the middle of the plain which produces most famous lentils of Italy, famous for their delicacy, for their size extra-small (their diameter is only 2 mm!) and the long life.
